AFROPUNK -a safe place, a blank space to freak out in, to construct a new reality, to live your life as you see fit, while making sense of the world around you.
Met with the juxtaposition of a grey summer’s day and the contagious ethereal presence of all things AFRO: of African spirit, black and PUNK: rebel and raw, I found myself in a vibrant, energetic and rhythmic wonderland.
Celebrating the beauty of complete and utter non-conformity, individualism and liberalism, the influx of colour sprinkled with a whole lot of melanin was the recipe for an incredible time.
As expected, the hair inspo was on another level. Dyed hair seemed to be the theme of the event and I was loving it! Coupling their gorgeous locks with stunning outfits everyone was ready for an #AMAZING time. Watch the video below to find out some of the festival goers hair secrets.
To top it all off, performances from leading ladies like Lil Sims, Syd Tha Kid and Corrine Bailey Ray ensured Afropunk London was an utterly magical experience.
