3 Ways the Golden Globes Taught Us To Slay Body Wave Extensions

It’s not everyday you get to walk on the red carpet, whether it’s at the Golden Globes, BAFTA’s or BET Awards, so in order to get red carpet ready we’ve taken our top picks of the night Black Excellence shined bright.

1. Naomie Harris

She’s beauty and a tall glass of caramel melanin all rolled into one amazingly talented actress, let’s not even get into how dazzling she looks in that dress! A classic red carpet staple, the side swept hair not only reveals her silky skin but dramatically brings together the entire outfit, simple yet elegant.

To achieve this look you’ll need:
1 x 18” Body Wave Lace Frontal or Closure
1 x Bundle Set of 18”, 20” and 22” Body Wave Extensions

This style works well as a weave, wig or leave out, but ensure you use a heat protectant such as the Fantasia IC Heat Protector especially if you’ll be working with your real hair. To start, create a side part on your frontal or move the closure to your desired side. Start curling hair directly below your ear, bearing in mind that you want evened out curls, twist and wrap hair around your curling wand to create a wave and hold for a couple of seconds. With your hands, play around with the curls until they are in the desired place. Sweep the smaller section of your part to the side and tuck behind one ear smoothing down, and finish with a holding spray. Now you’re now ready to rock!

2. Regina King

Sigh...We’ve got to give it to Regina King, although she didn’t leave with an award it didn’t stopped her from shining bright with that wow factor dress and yet another simple and easy to achieve hair style.

To achieve this look you’ll need:
1 x 12” Body Wave Lace Closure
2-3 x 14” Body Wave Bundles

This style is so simple you’ll be done with it in no time and works well either as a wig, weave, or leave out. As always, use a heat protectant before applying heat to your hair. Using a curling wand, straightener, or tongs take medium to small sized sections of hair, wrap around the appliance hold for a few seconds and carefully release the curls, you should now have bouncy spiral rings! Repeat this step all through the hair, when you have finished use a comb to tease the rings loose. Sweep hair to the side and hold in place with a clip. To finish, lay down those edges with Eco Styler Gel, and you’ll be red carpet ready!

3. Tracee Ellis Ross

Last but not least is the fabulous star of the night; the first black woman in 35 years to win a Golden Globe in her Category, Tracee Ellis Ross. Basking in the glow of her award, her entire look was brought together with a sleek, yet simple, laid back pony tail. Best thing about this style is it’s so easy to replicate all the while having the same effect.

To get her look you’ll need:
1 x 18” Body Wave Frontal
3 x 22” Body Wave Bundles

This style works better as a wig, as opposed to weave which may leave hair looking bulky at the top. Rather than braiding your real hair underneath simply slick hair back into a low ponytail and tuck in the ends. Curl ends of your hair using a curling wand or straightener, for added volume separate curls with your fingers or with a wide toothed comb. On your scalp add a little spritz of water with a dash of ORS HAIRepair Polish, brush hair back, and tie into a ponytail et voila you are red carpet ready!
